I'm a Big Boy!!
Grant is nine months old today! I can't believe it. He's getting so big and doing so many fun things. He's got 2 teeth. His second bottom one came in the night after the first one. They're pretty sharp! He loves to stand up. He's' always up and when he's up, he's bouncing up and down. This causes him to fall a lot. But he gets over it quickly. We haven't drawn blood yet. He had a rough day yesterday with injuries. He got a big bruise from falling against the dresser drawer handle in our room, he scraped his face on something (don't know exactly when or how that one happened), he bumped his mouth on my chair at church. All in all, a pretty rough day for our boy.
You can see his bruise in this picture of him in his play pen. It's on his left cheek. Looks kind of like a dimple. Grant's just now exploring the world of the playpen. We put him in it for the first time this week because we can't turn our backs without him trying to stand up (and then falling over). That alone wouldn't be so bad, but he's a cocky little guy and thinks he can hold on with only one hand (hence, the injuries) and he's trying to move to new objects (like chair to table leg to chair) without crawling. So I know he's safe in his pen when I have to be in another room.
I couldn't believe how much he looked like his cousin Conner in this picture! They could be twins!
Grant was talking in this picture. He's exploring the world of consonants now. He's moved on from Ba Ba Bla Bla (although that's still his favorite, especially when he's telling us off for cleaning his face) to Ra Ra, La La, Da Da, Ma Ma, and the K sound (which he says when he holds his duck and which he said for the first time when we were talking to him about bikes - very exciting!). He loves to talk to his toys - although we have a hard time getting it on film because he stops as soon as we start filming. Hmmmm. Here is one more video clip - the escape artist is a little longer (one minute) if you have dial up - be warned.
