The Downside of Personality
Grant's got a personality. He's beginning to express himself, sometimes in unpleasant ways, as we discovered this week when he threw his first real temper tantrum. Very interesting experience. At first I thought it was just him not liking the new food we gave him (green beans). Jared recognized right away that it was just a tantrum, but (being me) I had to test it for myself. So we switched foods and gave him something we knew he liked. That helped for a minute, but then he got angry again. So I took him out of his chair and he calmed right down. I fed him a couple of bites of food while he was on my lap and he ate just fine. He's just decided that he doesn't like to be in his little chair when he eats his baby food. Instead, he wants to be held. We're not sure where he got this from, since we've only ever fed him while he's in his chair. So we were firm and put him back in his chair, which he was skeptical about, but as long as we didn't put the tray on, he was fine with being strapped in. Something about the tray makes him angry. Hmmmm. Where did my happy, easy-going little baby go?? He's definitely got a temper.
