Vacation to Missouri (Or is that Misery?)

After we got back from Idaho, we had a few days to clean up the house and then Grandma and Grandpa Sommers came to visit. They got to stay home with Grant all day for over a week. On Friday, September 18th, we all took an overnight trip to Missouri to see some of the church historical sites there. We've been wanting to do this forever, so it was exciting to finally get to go there. Our first stop was the Independence Visitor's Center. This picture was taken in their little children's play area. Grant and I hung out here after he woke up from his nap. Grandma and Grandpa and Jared all went in to watch the new Joseph Smith movie. I saw it last month when I went on a trip with the youth in our ward to this visitors center. Grant liked the horse and wagon. The eyes on the horse kind of freaked me out though.
Grant liked the miniature cabin that was in the play area. It has some little rockers and a couple of boxes of pioneer era toys. The things in Grant's hands are some sticks like the ones children used to roll hoops. He found a use for them that the pioneers probably didn't try.
This is the inside of the cabin. See the miniature dutch oven and fireplace and stuff. Grant liked to stomp his feet on the hardwood floors because they echoed. He did that when we went through the life-size cabin as well, but it detracted from the spirit, so I made him stop.
Once Daddy and Grandpa and Grandma got finished with the movie and the tour, Daddy played in the cabin with Grant. He's hiding.
Outside the visitors center, there are tons of flowers. Grant has to stop and smell each one.
