Spring comes early to Kansas. Well, at least a lot earlier than it does in Utah or Idaho. So we enjoyed the great weather we had early in March. We planted our garden on St. Patrick's Day and busted Grant's swing out of storage. He had a great time playing in his swing while Jared and I weeded and planted. But he finally wanted to help so we gave him a bucket of his own and he happily picked up handfuls of dirt and put them in the bucket (just like mummy and daddy were doing). You'll notice in the pictures of him in the swing that he has a stick. That's the first thing he does when he comes outside is to look for either a stick or a rock to carry around the yard. It makes me nervous for him to have a stick in the swing because I'm afraid he'll poke his eye out. So I try to encourage him to take rocks with him on the swing instead. I took some pictures of our crocuses and here they are.Our tulips and daffodils are out now, so I'll get some pictures of those posted later next week. We planted peas on St. Patrick's Day and then planted our potatoes, onions, and garlic on the 19th. Everything's up now, including a TON of weeds. We definitely have our work cut out for us again this year, fighting the weed battle. If it ever stops raining, maybe we can actually get into the garden to pull some of those weeds.

Jared, Jen, Grant, Jacob & Lottie live in a little (and we DO mean little) town in Kansas. Having never planned to or even thought about living in Kansas prior to moving here, we didn't know how we'd adjust. Jared and Jen lived in Utah before moving to Kansas in 2004, so we really miss those mountains. Grant was born in 2005, Jacob joined our family in 2007, and our most recent addition is Lottie, born in 2009. We love to spend time together. Since moving to Kansas, Jared and Jen renovated the house they live in (almost entirely, both inside and out). We love to garden during the summer and spend time outside in general, whether it's taking walks or going to the playground. Biking is our preferred method of recreating, but we don't get as many opportunities to do that as we used to. Welcome to our web journal. We hope our friends and family enjoy the news, pictures and video clips of our life, since we live too far away to visit you very often.
