Grant's Third Birthday
Grant got to pick out his own cake design this year. I showed him several pans to choose from and it was down to either Lightning McQueen or Nemo. Glad he picked this one. 
Here's a closeup of the cake itself. I was feeling pretty good about myself when I saw the results of my labors!

We had his birthday party on Sunday evening, a couple days before his actual birthday because we gave Grant a trip to the zoo for his birthday and that's what we did on the actual day. Our neighbors Ken and Lorene Nolls have been to Grant's birthday parties the last two years, but Lorene passed away last year and Ken didn't feel up to coming, so his two daughters came to bring his good wishes to Grant. 
Jacob got a present from Grandma Love too.
Grant got lots and lots of summer clothes for his birthday. He liked the toys better of course.
He got Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head and he LOVED them!! He insisted on putting their faces on right away!
He also got a Mac the Truck and the three hotrods from the Cars movie. He loves them too!
Here's Grant with his cake after he's blown the candles out. I got a video of us singing Happy Birthday to him, maybe that's why he's making that face - sorry for those of you whose ears hurt after hearing this!

The cake looks great! I guess all those cake decorating classes have paid off. I bought that same cake pan for Ali's b-day but decided at the last minute that I didn't want to go through all the hassle and that she would be just as happy with McQueen decorations on cupcakes. You're my hero! He He
