Fun(ny) Pictures of the Boys

I've taken some random pictures of the boys the past couple of months that don't really fit in any of the blogs I've done so far. So here are a couple tidbits. This was Grant's Halloween costume that he put together for himself the other day when I was sewing. Jacob didn't really dress up, but Grant did all of this himself, even the tie. He said he had to wear a tie like Daddy - so it had to be tied. Rest assured, Jared does NOT wear his ties like this. Originally, Grant had the green hat on top as a third hat, but it kept falling off when he moved, so he just carried it around.Grant and Jacob are both equally fascinated by my shoes. When we got home from church one day, Grant tried my shoes on and tried to walk around in them. These have about a 3 inch heel on them at least, so he has pretty good balance. I took this picture as a future blackmail picture to pull out for his dates when they come over to the house. Jacob tried the shoes on too, but he can't walk in them.Jacob's first real ice cream cone experience. We bought some dipped strawberry cones at the store and came home and ate them as a treat. Very messy, but fun! We let Grant choose the flavor, believe me I wanted the chocolate ones with malted milk balls on them in the worst way!Jacob loves corn on the cob. Grant doesn't like to get it stuck in his teeth, so he makes us cut it off the cob, but we had a hard time keeping Jacob from eating it raw off the cob when we picked it, so we have a bunch of frozen corn ears with little bite marks.Jacob's a great helper. He's always wanting to do whatever mommy and daddy are doing. He says, 'I help you?' as a question all the time. We just have to show him what to do and he'll do it. Here he's helping Jared pull the crabgrass out of the lawn. The 'boys' (including Daddy) looking at train magazines. They're fascinated by trains and love everything to do with them. They even love to look at the model train catalogs that Jared gets. Then it was tackle Daddy time. If Grant gets tickled, Jacob has to be tickled and vice versa. The boys love their Daddy! This is what we do to little boys at our house that mouth off. Just kidding!! This series of pictures was too funny not to post! Grant got one of those little plastic arm bracelets from a friend of his at church and discovered that it looks really funny to put it on his mouth and chin. He spent a long time looking at himself in the mirror while he experimented with this.I asked him to try to smile in this picture. I was laughing pretty hard, so that's why these pictures are a little fuzzy! Then he looped it up over his nose too and that looked even funnier. So I asked him to smile again. This was the best he could do!One nice shot to end this blog post - the boys reading bedtime stories in mommy and daddy's bed. They both love to read a LOT! Grant and Jacob got new books from Grandma and Grandpa Love a couple weeks ago. Grant memorized his entire book which consists of three Little Golden books, in one week and he now reads it to me or to Jacob when we read stories. What a memory! Jacob loves to have stories read to him or read them by himself too. He starts every story with 'One day...' Apparently he thinks that's how all the stories should start rather than 'Once upon a time...'
