Happy Birthday Grant!!

Sunday, May 6th was Grant's second birthday. We had planned to have a picnic lunch and go down to the park, but the weather didn't cooperate. We invited our neighbors, Ken and Lorene Knolls, to come over for cake and ice cream. Grandma and Grandpa Sommers were here too and brought lots of presents from everyone at home in Idaho.
Grant quickly lost interest in all other presents once this arrived. The tricycle was a gift from the Knolls. Grant loves his 'bike'. He hasn't quite mastered the pedals yet, but he pushes himself (or the bike from behind) all over the place.
Here's another view of the bike. See the little tray to carry stuff (yellow)? We had to remove it because Grant kept trying to stand in it to push. Little daredevil!! We let him take it outside and play with it, and he wouldn't take ANY help whatsoever from anyone. He had to ride it HIMSELF!! He's very independent!! Wonder who he gets that from...
Here's Grant getting acquainted with his new Lego set. He loves to build things with Legos and then tear them all apart again. The mat he's sitting on was a present from Grandma and Grandpa Love.
Here's Grant's birthday cake. Since we're in Kansas and all, I decided to do a tractor cake for his party. He thought it was really cool and was very excited to get to finally EAT the cake.
This is our neighbor Lorene, counting fingers with Grant. He loves to count things. It doesn't matter how many of the things there are, he always counts at least to five and sometimes to 10. Here's his birthday accident on video - he singed his hair trying to blow out the candle.
