My New Haircut and the Big Boy Bed

We gave Grant his first haircut using the buzzers a couple weeks ago. He didn't like it. Once we talked him into not freaking out, he just froze the whole time I was using them on his hair and when I tried to go around his ears he kept turning his head to see them. But we did FINALLY get done with the haircut (lots of crackers and whatever else he asked for to keep him happy). I took these pictures of him one day when he was pulling his toys around the house. He looks pretty grumpy in this one.
There's a happier boy! He counts with me when I take the picture. 1, 2, 3, smile!!
Jared took this picture of me reading one of Grant's favorite books to him called "Purple Hair, I Don't Care!" or as Grant calls it, "the purple book". He makes us read it OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Needless to say, Jared and I can both recite it from memory.
Here's a picture of Grant asleep in his new Big Boy bed. He calls it his "Car Lightning Bed". At least that's what he called it when we put these sheets on it to entice him to make the transition from the crib. Unfortunately, we had to take the sheets back off of it after a couple of weeks, because it made him too wired when we put him to bed and he wouldn't fall asleep, he just had to sit and look at the pictures of Lightning and Mater and Flo and all the other cars. Too busy of a print for him I guess. Anyway, he's doing much better in his muted color sheets and blankets. This was too cute to pass up. Last Sunday Grant snuggled up with Jared on his bed and wanted to lay on Daddy. I remember when Grant's whole body didn't even come past Jared's belly button. My how he's grown! Being Grant of course, he didn't snuggle with Daddy for long before he had to pop up and see what I was doing. Poor Grant! On the way home from the babysitter's house (a five minute drive) I inadvertently trapped a mosquito in the back seat with Grant. I discovered it when we got home and I opened the door to get Grant out. I killed it, but the damage was done. 6 bites in the same spot on his forehead made him swell up like a balloon. It looked awful.
