Kansas Wildlife at Our House!!

Monday morning we realized that SOMETHING had been trapped and living in our garage for a day or so and left it's droppings all over the place. We were on our way to work but we didn't want to leave it in there, so I backed out the car and we put Grant in his carseat so he was out of the way and Jared went after it with a broom trying to spook whatever it was out of hiding. It was a possum!! This little guy was hiding behind Jared's saw underneath his workbench and was apparently pretty dehydrated and ill. He'd been trapped in there since Saturday night and we had the garage door closed all day on Sunday when the temperatures were in the 90s. He's lucky he was still alive Monday morning. Jared said he bit and clawed at the broom and growled at him too, but he eventually ran it out of the garage and sent it on its way to wherever it lives. Kind of creepy to have this running around in there without us knowing it. We also had a hawk come and rest for a while on the tree branch just outside Grant's bedroom window last week. The picture didn't turn out very well because it was stormy and dark outside, but the video shows it pretty good. It was big!!
