I'm finally catching up on all the things that have gone on this year (Actually it's about 18 months ago because I'm really writing this blog in January 2011- HA! So much for being current). We went to the annual Wamego 4th of July carnival again this year. Since I was pregnant again, I couldn't go on any rides, so Jared took the boys on the ferris wheel and on the spinning bears!
The boys went on the fish ride. Grant's favorite from last year. Jacob wasn't so sure about it at first, but once it got going he was all smiles and giggles.
Grant also went on the animal ride that goes up and down and in a circle. He was determined to ride the elephant, but the ride had a hitch and wasn't going up and down, just around in a circle. Grant enjoyed it anyway.
On the 4th of July, we participated in the parade float for the hospital (this was Grant's third year riding in the parade). It was supposed to be a big birthday cake and the kids were supposed to wear candle hats (you can kind of see one in the picture). Jacob refused to wear a hat though and was more interested in the snacks along the way.
Love this picture of the boys! They look so awesome in their 'shades.
Right before the parade, Jared asked Grant to ride with him in the cart, so that's where Grant spent the parade, waving his flag and riding with daddy! His only complaint was that it was too loud!
Wamego started lighting off fireworks at the new sports complex last year. We went this year and it was a great place to see fireworks. Plenty of seating, not crowded in the least. The boys had fun running around, playing with some other kids that were not too far away, until it got dark.
This is one of my favorite pictures. Jacob is looking so All-American.
Here are the boys right before the start of the fireworks. We brought our camp chairs and our blanket to snuggle under.
Here are a couple of shots of the fireworks I took. I thought they turned out rather well.
