Tulips, Shmoo-lips!

This weekend was the annual Wamego Tulip Festival at the City Park. The hospital had a booth, so Jared, Grant and I all went up in the morning to set it up. The hospital was doing a free blood pressure check at their booth, and also giving away information pamphlets and flyers about childhood nutrition. They had lots of fun toys to give away to the kids too and we tested them out. Grant looked so cute in these Groucho glasses that we had to get his picture.Jared and Grant had the same look on their faces when I took this picture.....boredom! The Tulip Festival is a giant craft fair with about 10 of those inflatable bouncing rooms and giant slides for kids. There's also a petting zoo and pony rides and lots of food booths with tons of fried stuff for sale like funnel cakes and navajo tacos and corn dogs, etc. I even saw a sign for fried Oreos (no idea what that is). Anyway, it coincides with the time of year that the tulips are blooming around the Old Dutch Mill that is the symbol of Wamego and is located at the city park.
We took Grant around to look at all the booths and he was less than impressed, although he did perk up when we took him out of his stroller to touch the flowers. We came back in the afternoon to take down the hospital booth and I let Grant swing in the baby swings for the first time. He loved it. We'll have to do that again for sure.
