Birthday Boy!!

Grant's 1st birthday was on Saturday, May 6th. He had a great birthday. What a haul! It was just like Christmas for our little guy! Thanks to everyone who sent presents and cards. Grandma and Grandpa Sommers were here for the party and we invited our neighbors, Ken and Lorene Nolls, over to have cake also. They are very special people, and we have kind of adopted them in place of having our own relatives close by. This is one of Grant's presents - a pushing/riding toy tractor. He is getting very good at pushing it all over the house and even riding on it and using the gear shifter (it makes an engine revving sound). This is Grant's birthday cake that Mummy made all by herself. She even made the little candy chocolates that go on it. Those were the first things to go in Grant's mouth - he loved them! This is Grant's own cake that he got to eat/destroy while we all stood around and watched. It didn't take him long to dive right in and make a HUGE mess of himself, the cake, and everything within throwing distance. Luckily he had a bath waiting for him when he got done and we had our clean boy again after all the chocolate came off. We went to dinner at the burger place and Grant had french fries and a hamburger for his birthday dinner. What a perfect birthday!! Here's Grant's picture in his new birthday outfit.
