This was too funny to pass up. I just have to laugh at the number of times Grant falls asleep in his chair on Saturdays during lunch. Probably because it's usually the first time he stops to sit down ANYWHERE during the day. He's like the Energizer Bunny. Anyway, he actually stayed asleep and I got him put down for a nap without waking him up. He was OUT! Here's Grant 'helping Daddy' drive the truck. We let him sit in the driver's seat when Jared backs the truck around into the driveway for yardwork. When we went outside last Saturday, Grant insisted on wearing a hat just like Daddy always does. But he had to wear his backwards. Mr. Hawaii 5-0. Grandma Love sent this cute little Hawaiian outfit to Grant after her trip with Adrienne in July. Grant calls it his turtle shirt because there are sea turtles on it. He posed for me wearing his outfit and his smile looks crooked (on the same side even) just like his Daddy's smile. How's that for uncanny? Here we are practicing for when new baby brother comes along. Grant likes to feed the "baby" his bottle and put his pacifier in his mouth. But he holds the baby by the eye to do it. We'll have to work on that. He's taking his job VERY seriously. Look at him concentrating on doing it right. After we put the "baby" to bed, Grant gets to run around and play with mommy and daddy. Here's a little clip of him doing somersaults in our living room with daddy. Grant's new favorite toys are some little plastic characters with colored shapes for platforms. He carries them EVERYWHERE with him and is always asking what color the shapes are - testing us for the 'right' answer. If we get it right he says 'good job' or 'berry good mummy'.

Jared, Jen, Grant, Jacob & Lottie live in a little (and we DO mean little) town in Kansas. Having never planned to or even thought about living in Kansas prior to moving here, we didn't know how we'd adjust. Jared and Jen lived in Utah before moving to Kansas in 2004, so we really miss those mountains. Grant was born in 2005, Jacob joined our family in 2007, and our most recent addition is Lottie, born in 2009. We love to spend time together. Since moving to Kansas, Jared and Jen renovated the house they live in (almost entirely, both inside and out). We love to garden during the summer and spend time outside in general, whether it's taking walks or going to the playground. Biking is our preferred method of recreating, but we don't get as many opportunities to do that as we used to. Welcome to our web journal. We hope our friends and family enjoy the news, pictures and video clips of our life, since we live too far away to visit you very often.
