Happy 4th of July!!
The carnival came to town the weekend before the 4th of July. Grant had so much fun last year that we had to go again this year. We went a couple days before the 4th of July so it wouldn't be quite so crowded. It was wristband night so we could ride all the rides we wanted. Since I was pregnant last summer and didn't get to ride the rides with Grant, Jared let me go on them with him this year while he watched Jacob.
Grant went riding in this little jeep with a little girl in the front seat. He's still a little young though. He spent all his time looking at the car, and not at the cute girl sitting next to him. 
The fish ride is always a favorite for Grant. I think he rode it about 3 or 4 times.
Here we are after the carnival ride. We all shared some cotton candy and a caramel apple before we went home. 
On the actual 4th of July holiday, Jared took Grant for a bike ride in the trailer. They had a great time.
The hospital had a float and had the kids of some of the employees dress up and ride on it. The theme for the parade was the 'unsung heroes' and the hospital float was the 'future unsung heroes' and the kids all dressed up as hospital workers. Our boys were asked to dress up in shirts and ties as future CEOs. They looked really cute. 
Here's Grant sitting at his desk with a computer, phone and everything. He wasn't very happy about getting his picture taken. He wanted to vacuum with the toy vacuum that was a prop on the float.
He spent most of the hour we were waiting for our turn in line vacuuming everything on the float. Funny kid! 
Here's a picture that was on the Wamego Chamber of Commerce webpage. Not sure who took it. But you can see that our float won the 'theme award' for the parade. That's me and Jacob at the front waving! The city had a new location for setting off the fireworks this year, but the boys were pretty tired and grumpy from the long day and the heat so we ended up just setting off all our own fireworks that night out on the driveway. Grant thought they were really loud and wouldn't open his eyes to see them. He did like the colored ones that make that spinning noise. And he loves the smoke bombs (running through the smoke) and the little black snakes and pop its. Jacob didn't really care much about the noise, but the sparkly lights and sounds fascinated him too.
