Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Well, it was our 5th Christmas in Kansas. This year, Grandma and Grandpa Sommers were here and we all got a cold. Some fun! But the boys had a great time anyway. Grant learned a whole ton of Christmas songs this year. Holly Jolly Christmas was a favorite. He also mixed up Jingle Bells and Jingle Bell Rock together and made his own version of the songs. He loves singing Christmas songs. Grant was so excited for Santa Claus to come. He and Jacob left cookies and milk out for Santa Claus. Grant told everyone who would listen, multiple times, that he was getting a Jessie doll and a Wall-e movie for Christmas. But he wouldn't tell Santa Claus when he saw him. He would only get close to him if he was hanging onto mom's neck. But he whispered it to him from my lap. So guess what was waiting under the tree? That's right! Grant was pretty excited and wanted to watch Wall-e right away. We were able to put him off until after lunch!

Jacob's been listening to Grant go on and on about Wall-e for the past 3 months so it was inevitable that he would start to say it too. This was the first time he actually tried to say it. He's much better at it now. He even says 'Eva' just like Wall-e does in the movie. So cute!

Both of the boys got a fleece blanket from Santa. Jacob's was Thomas the train. He also got a Little People construction set. It's a mine with boulders and a dumptruck. Jacob and Grant both love it. Grant also got a doctor kit and immediately started taking everyone's temperature and giving shots. Here he is, listening to daddy's heartbeat. And here's daddy, listening to Grant's heartbeat.

Then Grant had to take Daddy's temperature and he was sick, so he got a shot!

Jacob's loot also included some new books and a wooden train set made of building blocks, as well as lots of clothes.Grant got lots of clothes too, and books! He loves to read stories! It was a nice Christmas! Jared and I got lots of clothes and movies that we've been wanting. It was nice to have Grandma and Grandpa here for the holidays! Here's Grant looking sharp in his new church clothes that he got for Christmas! And here's Jacob in his church outfit. I love this picture, even though Jacob was moving and looks a little blurred, because Grant looks so GQ posing with his hands in his pockets, all nice and casual! Here's our family after church the Sunday after Christmas. And here are the boys with Grandma and Grandpa after church.
