Just Hangin' Out

It's been a pretty quiet March. Jen and Jared both had birthdays and turned......older. Celebrated with Cold Stone ice cream, our favorite! The boys are getting bigger, and more handsome. Here they are in the shirts that Grandma and Grandpa Sommers got for them while on their trip to Vegas.Isn't this picture sad? Jacob turns 6 months old this week. He's getting so big and starting to be really interested in ANYTHING Grant is doing. He could just sit and watch Grant do nothing. If he's sad and mom's busy, all she has to do is tell Grant to make his brother laugh and be happy and he can do it just by talking to Jacob. He LOVES his big brother, which is so great, except for when mom's trying to feed Jacob and Grant's running around, because then Jacob gets distracted from eating. We've had a couple spring-y type days and been able to play outside for the first time this week, even got to go to the playground. But it was too windy to really get to play outside much. We did get some yardwork done and Grant loves to look at the bugs mom turns up when she's cleaning out the flower beds. He even introduced himself to a spider on the sidewalk the other day and couldn't understand why the spider ran away from him.Jacob isn't content to lay on the floor for very long anymore. He's got to be up and watching the busy-ness going on at our house. But sometimes, it's just too much for him. This was a day when I was trying to keep Jacob awake so he'd go down for his nap at the same time as Grant. He just couldn't do it. Poor baby!Grant lovees Jacob's bouncy chair and just realized the other day that he can't fit his head through the leg holes. Grant loves to play with his Little People farm set and act out the little episodes of the Little People DVDs that he watches. He also loves music and singing songs. I've been trying to get him to dance to music instead of just running around as fast as possible until the music stops. This clip cracks us up every time. I shake my hips when I dance with him to this song. But Grant can't shake his hips, so he just wiggles his upper body. FUNNY!! Along with FINALLY starting to sleep through the night (at least twice a week), Jacob's started to sit up. He has to have help of course, but he's doing pretty well with the balance thing. We discovered Grant watching a movie in this position one day. He does this all the time now. It's his new favorite way to watch movies. Upside down. I have no idea what the attraction is, and frequently worry about all the blood rushing to his head. This was the boys' first bath together. Grant moves around and splashes a little too much for Jacob to be in there very long, but it was fun for them to get to have tub time. They both love their baths. Grant would stay in the water all night if I let him.
