We'll Be Home for Christmas

Well, we definitely got the snow we'd been missing when we got to Idaho for Christmas!! Here's Grant helping Grandma and Grandpa Sommers shovel out one day. We were all very excited to be able to come home for Christmas and be there with all our family members. One little excitement we could have done without was the airsickness Grant suffered on our plane ride. He did great on the first leg coming into Denver, where we then had to actually run through the airport (that was fun) to get to our second flight because our gate was like 50 gates away and they were already boarding when we landed. Also, Jared and I both needed to use the bathroom before we got on the plane. But we made it. Grant fell asleep almost immediately. So did Jacob. But Grant woke up crying during the flight. I thought it was just because of the air pressure on his ears, but he sat on Jared's lap the rest of the flight and slept. When we landed, both sets of grandparents were there to greet us and Grant was so excited to see everyone. But then that airsickness caught up with him and he threw up all over Grandma Sommers, who was lucky enough to be holding him at the time. I got a lot of it on me also. Unfortunately, Jared had already taken the bags (with the wet wipes) to the car and he had to go get them so we could try to clean up a little. Grant had to strip down in the airport and we wrapped him in my coat. I'm sure the other passengers were thankful he waited until we landed to do that. We had a lot of fun in the snow during our vacation. Grant played with his Love cousins on the sleds that Grandma bought. Here's Grant and McKinna being pulled on the sleds by their dads.Of course, Grant wanted to pull someone. He tried to pull me, but he had a lot better luck pulling Ali.Here's Ali making a snow angel. Then the kids all played on Grandma and Grandpa's swing set. It's a good thing they did it then, because it would be pretty difficult to do now that the entire swingset and trampoline are buried in the mountains of snow Idaho Falls got after Christmas!! Jacob didn't get to play in the snow. He stayed inside with Grandma instead.This closeup was too cute to pass up. Grandmas are so cuddly, aren't they?Even Great-grandmas!! I didn't realize Jacob was so big until I saw this picture of him with Grandma Johnson. This was taken at the Johnson Family Christmas Eve party. Ali was Mary for the Nativity scene this year and she did a great job holding baby Jacob as Jesus. Grant opted not to participate as a shepherd or a wise man. Instead he was intent on running around, so he had to leave the performing to his cousins. Grant did get in some ping pong during the evening though. Here are the two boys on Christmas Eve just before bed at Grandma and Grandpa Sommers' house. On the fireplace, they left Santa a plate of cookies and a mug of milk. I think Grant drank out of the Santa mug the whole time we were at home. He called it his Christmas milk. Here is Grandma and Grandpa Love opening their Christmas present from all of us kids. It was a digital picture frame, which we all contributed a ton of pictures to. Here are the grandkids opening up a present all together. It was a wooden train set.The cutest part was Grandpa sitting with the kids putting it all together and showing them how it goes.
Grant even let go of the Woody figure he carried around the WHOLE time we were at Grandma Love's house, in order to play with the train. Grant still asks to go play with Woody and Buzz at Grandma's house. Grant and his other two boy cousins got a train book that lights up and plays a song.
