January Blahs
January's always such a letdown. We've been having the craziest weather - sometimes it's warm, the next day it's freezing. Today it was 62 degrees and our crocuses are already coming up! Just in time for the snowstorm that's supposed to come in over the weekend! We have been able to have a few fun outings at the park though when it's warm. Jacob and Grant love to watch Wall-e together. Here's what they look like!
Then, I decided to cut my hair. I got tired of it being so long and getting in my way all the time. Short hair's making my life easier.
Here's Jacob standing on the rocking chair posing for me. He just learned how to do that. He finally stays in one place long enough for me to take a picture of him.
This picture was pretty cute of Jacob. It shows how long his lashes are.
Grant and daddy learned a new trick - Grant can touch the ceiling if he stands on daddy's shoulders. I got a little video of it too.
Here's Jacob saying 'Cheese!' Jacob loves mashed potates! He's learning how to eat with his spoon/fork on his own now and gets mad when I try to feed him. But he can't spear stuff on his fork by himself, so I have to hold his hand around the fork to help him. The mashed potates ended up not being so hard to get out of the bowl...
See what I mean?
It seems like Jacob learns new words every day. He tries to say the things we say and is always trying to do what we're doing, even if he doesn't know exactly what that might be.I took this video of Jacob one day when he was playing with a box that we'd gotten in the mail. He thought it was hilarious to stand on it and then step off. Not sure what the big attraction was, but he did this for about 10 minutes!
Jacob loves to play with cars! He's pretty much always got at least one car in his hand. Grant was and still is the same way. Jacob discovered this fun game the other night when he was playing with daddy on the floor.
I've been meaning to post a few of the Grant-isms that we've been laughing about for a while. Grant's vocabulary is pretty large, but he gets confused about how to say what he means sometimes. Here are a couple of the uniquely Grant words he uses and their meanings:
For-missed: combination of the words 'forgot' and 'missed', used when we forget to do
something Grant wanted us to do.
For-lost: combination of the words 'forgot' and 'lost', used when we have lost something
Livrary: library (no matter how much I correct him, it's always this way)
I'm sure there are more, I just can't remember them right now. We're glad January is almost over and we can get on to spring in just a few more weeks!
